John Wood

"Same buyers. Same loads. Every autumn."

About John Wood

A specialist trader of breeding sheep and store lambs.

John Wood has been buying and selling sheep across the British Isles for thirty years. The same farms send their drafts down to the farm every autumn. Buyers from across the UK come back to him, year after year.

John doesn't source to order as a rule. But if you're looking for something he hasn't got on the farm, tell him the breed, the type and the number. He'll find them, draw them, and have them on the lorry to your farm.

We farm 600 acres in Dorset. We lamb 1,200 ewes a year, we also farm 300 cattle, and fatten 3,000 hoggets each season.

"In livestock, reputation travels faster than our lorries."

— John Wood
